It was a rough weekend for two of Kansas City’s professional soccer teams. Sporting KC failed to win for the seventh straight game and lost their second in a row at home. The KC Comets meanwhile saw their season come to an end on Monday night in New York in a 7-6 overtime loss to Utica City FC in the play in round of the MASL’s Ron Newman Cup playoffs. The one good result for KC teams was Sporting KC II picking up their first regulation win of the season, 2-1 over Los Angeles FC 2. Here are the stats and milestones from the games.

Sporting KC

Tim Melia made his 218th league appearance, tying him with Preki for 7th all time on that list.

Johnny Russell made his 155th appearance in MLS competitions, tying him with Ilie Sanchez for 18th all time on that list.

It was his 145th league appearance for KC, breaking his tie with Sanchez, Matt McKeon, and Josh Wolff for 18th all time on that list.

Russell made his 134th start in MLS competitions, breaking his tie with Michael Harrington for 19th all time on that list.
