Sporting Kansas City II recorded their first shutout of the 2026 season on Sunday evening at Victory Field in Swope Park in a 1-0 win over Minnesota United 2. The win on a goal by Missael Rodriguez was the team’s first shutout since losing to Town FC in a shootout in May of last year after a 0-0 draw. It’s the first time KC has won after shutting out their opponent since September of 2024 against the Colorado Rapids 2. In the shutout, Sporting KC goalkeeper, Jack Kortkamp saved a penalty kick when the score was still 0-0.
