Juice Boxes and Post Game Stats: SKCII Fall on the Road, Eliminated From Playoff Contention

Sporting Kansas City II continued their West Coast road trip on Monday night in Washington taking on the Tacoma Defiance. Tacoma jumped out to an early 3-0 lead inside the first twenty minutes, and cruised through the game. They added a fourth early in the second half that was enough to finish off SKCII 4-0. The loss eliminates SKCII from the MLS Next Pro playoffs. It’s the fourth time in the five seasons they’ve been in MLS Next Pro that they’ve failed to make the playoffs. Add in their time in the USL and they’ve made the playoffs just once in the last eight years.

Reaching his 50th league appearance tied Lurot with Parker Maher for 18th all time on that list.

In the 51st minute, Lurot passed Kharlton Belmar and moved into 13th all time for minutes played in all competitions for KC. In the 53rd minute, he then passed Jake Davis and moved into 12th all time on that list. He finished the game with 4,517 minutes played.

Lurot made his 49th league start, tying him with Wilson Harris for 11th all time on that list.
