KC Comets Schedule Released

The MASL announced the full 2026-2027 schedule today after announcing every team’s home opener yesterday. For the third straight year and fifth time in six seasons, the Kansas City Comets help kick off the season on Black Friday, November 27th, in St. Louis against the St. Louis Ambush. It’s become an almost regular tradition for the two teams to meet in the league’s opener. It’s the first of six meetings between the Comets and Ambush, another regular occurrence in the schedule since the first full season post COVID. Unlike last year when six of KC’s first ten games were against the Ambush, and they were done with league match ups against them on January 4th, their games against their cross state rival are spread out this year. KC’s last game against St. Louis is the Comets’ home finale on April 2nd.

Kansas City’s home opener comes a day later on November 28th against the Milwaukee Wave. It’s the fifth time in the Comets’ seventeen seasons that they’ve played their home opener against the Wave. It’s one of only two home games in Kansas City in 2026 for the team as the Comets have a road heavy start to the season. Six of the Comets’ first eight games are on the road, which gets them into mid-January. From there, the Comets have five of their next six games at home. The final ten games of their season are evenly spread out between home and away match ups.

Kansas City will play a third home opener in their third game as they’ll be the Tacoma Stars’ opponent in their home opener on December 13th. A week later, the Comets will take on former players David Stankovic, Chad Vandegriffe, and the expansion Lehigh Valley Spirits on the 19th of December.

The Comets play all eight other teams in the MASL this year, but will not play home and away against each team. While the Comets end the 26-27 season against the San Diego Sockers on the road, the Sockers never make the trip to Cable Dahmer Arena this season. This after the Sockers made three trips to Kansas City last season. The Comets play St. Louis six times, Milwaukee five (three home, two away), Tacoma four times, Lehigh Valley, the Baltimore Blast, Empire Strykers, and Utica City twice each, and San Diego once.

And while it is a more even schedule overall for the MASL, only one team, Empire, play every team home and away this year. Every other team in the league misses playing one of the other teams, Baltimore doesn’t host Milwaukee and doesn’t travel to Tacoma, Lehigh Valley doesn’t host St. Louis, Milwaukee doesn’t make the trip to Baltimore, San Diego doesn’t host Utica or travel to KC, St. Louis doesn’t host Utica or travel to Lehigh Valley, Tacoma doesn’t  host Baltimore, and Utica doesn’t travel to San Diego or St. Louis.

The Comets game against San Diego on April 4th will close the regular season for the entire league before the playoffs start.

What game are you most looking forward to this year?
