Shortly before Sporting KC’s first team kicked off in Colorado, Sporting KC II was hosting Colorado Rapids 2 at Victory Field in Swope Park Saturday. SKCII jumped out to a 2-0 lead through goals by Tega Ikoba and Blaine Mabie. The lead held until late until Colorado scored in the 87th and then in second half stoppage time on a penalty kick to force a shootout. In the shootout Colorado prevailed 4-3.
