The Kansas City Comets are returning to the MASL’s Ron Newman Cup Playoffs this year after splitting the weekend with the San Diego Sockers. On Saturday night in Independence, the Comets fell in overtime 6-5. On Sunday in San Diego, KC flipped the script winning 8-6 to take 4 of the 6 available points this weekend. The points see them jump over St. Louis and into 4th place in the league, 4 points behind first place Baltimore, who visits KC next weekend.

It was also a milestone weekend for Ignacio Flores as he reached the 200 point milestone on Sunday. Here are the stats and milestones from the weekend.

Rian Marques’s 2nd goal was the 1,100th league goal for the Comets away from home.

Marques’s hattrick was the 150th in all competitions for the Comets.

Phillip Ejimadu recorded his 21st win in all competitions for KC, tying him with Boris Pardo for 3rd all time on that list.
