REPORT: Sporting Make New Bid for Capita

New report says Sporting haven’t given up their pursuit of Angolan winger, Capita.

Sporting Kansas City continues to work on building their roster as the MLS season kicks off this weekend. They attack has been the focus today with the addition of Taylor Calheira and the departure of Daniel Salloi. There’s also a new rumor today about Angolan winger, Capita.

Last week, Sporting was linked with the winger, who currently plays with Radomiak Radom in the Polish PKO BP Ekstraklasa, the first division in Poland. The report was quickly squashed in Poland as Radomiak coach Goncalo Feio said that Capita was satisfied, happy, and wasn’t going anywhere. He then played in Radomiak’s game on Friday.

For the moment, that seemed to be the end of it, but then came new reports today. Tomasz WÅ‚odarczyk, who’d reported Sporting’s rumored interest previously in Capita, said the rumor isn’t dead yet. Radomiak would like Capita to stay with the club for a few more games. With the transfer window for MLS not closing until March 26th, that could work. Radomiak currently sits 10th in the league on 27 points, five points out of fourth place and a Europa Conference League qualification spot, but also just five points clear of 16th and relegation to the second division in Poland.

WÅ‚odarczyk reports that the new deal for Capita would be in the $2.7m range. That’s still under the reported asking price of just under $3m, but more than the reported $2.3m that KC offered in their initial bid. The reported fee for Capita would be a record fee for Radomiak, topping the previously record of about $1.05m.

Can Sporting get the deal done? He’d be the fourth winger on the roster, joining Stephen Afrifa, Calvin Harris, and Shapi Suleymanov.

I find it hard to believe that we would have pulled the trigger on the Salloi deal if we didn’t feel close on this one. That being said, Lee has proven that he’s not trying to make people happy, he’s trying to build something that will last, so it could be that the deal was right and he wanted to take it to set himself up for the future.

It is going to take some getting used to for the next few signings that they won’t see the pitch for a few months. But I am with you in seeing something built in the long term. I can trust the process.
