The Blue Turf: Comets dominate Dallas
We discuss on the latest Blue Turf podcast
Erik Bergrud from the Kansas City Comets broadcast team and Thad Bell from the Kansas City Soccer Journal recorded the latest episode of The Blue Turf. We were at are usual spot at the “World Famous” Kansas City Soccer Dome to watch practice and talk Kansas City Comets.
The Comets easily beat the Dallas Sidekicks 9-2 and Christian Anderaos had a spectacular game scoring four goals, Erik and Thad discuss the latest win. Not only did the Comets beat Dallas 9-2, they looked really good doing it. They controlled the match, they displayed creative attacking flair in the process and did not allow Dallas to gain any momentum.
Phillip Ejimadu only allowed two goals on his way to earning his third win of the season. Does that add fuel to the fire for a goalkeeper controversy? Who should be starting?
Coach Stokic joins for the second segment of the pod. Coach gives an injury update on several players (Berry, Reget, Sousa, Lenis and Ramirez). We also talk about using Rian Marques and Zach Reget on the same line and the challenges that presents to opposing teams. Stokic talks about own goals and how much effort it takes to create those and the credit. Stokic is put on the spot, would coach in his prime be the better defensive runner or is it Anderaos now?
