Salloi Provides Peek Behind the Scenes in Sporting KC Offseason Vlog
Sporting Kansas City report to preseason on January 10th, but you don’t have to wait that long to see a look behind the offseason.
Sporting Kansas City’s offseason is in full swing. After releasing or declining options on numerous players, the team has (slowly) started to add pieces as they build towards the start of the 2026 Major League Soccer season.
However, in that down time after the team is eliminated and before the team plays their first game of the following season, there can be a lack of information about what is going on off the field.
Enter Daniel Salloi. This past week, he posted episode one of his “offseason log” to his Instagram account.
In the video, you get a behind the scenes look at some personal time with Salloi, as well as glimpses behind the close doors at Compass Minerals National Performance Center. You get glimpses of Daniel’s dog, his car, and how he is preparing for the 2026 MLS season.
Salloi is no novice to vlogging. During the 2020 MLS is Back campaign and his injury the prior year, Daniel posted videos featuring some gone but not forgotten former teammates to his YouTube channel.
Salloi ended his first video with, “who doesn’t love a comeback story?”
Sporting KC convene for medicals on January 10th in Kansas City. They then hit the road for two separate legs of preseason. First, they head to Palm Beach, Florida for most of January from the 11th through the 31st. After a brief trip home, the players head off to Indio, California for the Coachella Valley Invitational.
I look forward to Salloi taking us behind the scenes. Daniel is entering a contract year and has everything to play for in 2026.

Perfect. We have like 5 players!!
Also, no manager. Off to great start already!!
This might be naively optimistic, but surely the club has the ‘appropriate’ amount of movement behind the scenes. Right? I can’t imagine that SKC is headed for preseason competition in less than a month with half a roster and no coach. I could be wrong. I own zero franchises and have no coaching ability. So things may have been handled appropriately and I just can’t see it.
But I’d sure like something a bit more tangible to hold on to than kit sponsors and player vlogs.
We’re with you. We’re reaching for the news here.
But yes, I suspect things are moving in the background. This team seems to announce nothing until it’s all over the line.
I was joking today David Lee gets no Christmas vacation this year. All hands on deck building a staff, roster, etc.
