Juice Boxes and Post Game Stats: Comets Fall on the Road

The Kansas City Comets dropped their first game of the season in overtime to the Milwaukee Wave 6-5 on Saturday night. The game was not without controversy as the Comets had a goal waived off in the second half after the Wave challenged the Comets having too many men on the field as Lesia Thetsane chipped Milwaukee goalkeeper William Banahene as Banahene made his way to the bench to pull on an extra attacker until the play stopped as apparently one referee had prematurely pulled a blue card. No call was made at the time and the referees allowed the goal. After a long delay looking at the replay and discussion among the referees they deemed that the challenge was not valid but that the goal would not stand either.
