The Blue Turf: Comets take huge win over Chihuahua
Kansas City’s first win ever over the defending Champions

Erik Bergrud from the Kansas City Comets broadcast team and Thad Bell from the Kansas City Soccer Journal recorded the latest episode of The Blue Turf. We were not at the “World Famous” Kansas City Soccer Dome with too many conflicts.
The Comets played an amazing game against the Chihuahua Savage over the weekend. It was the first win for the Comets over the defending champions. Ever. MASL Commissioner Keith Tozer was in the house to show two possible expansion groups how to run a good MASL show.
Kansas City had been close before, very close but still came up short. Will this give them the needed confidence to take them in the future?
Comets have two games in the next few days. They travel down to Dallas to face the Sidekicks on Thursday before returning home to take on the Harrisburg Heat on Sunday. The Comets are in fifth behind Chihuahua, Baltimore Blast, San Diego Sockers, and the Milwauke Wave. With one to three games in hand on the teams above them in the standings, these matches could propel them right back to the top with a pair of wins. Both games are winnable but not sure wins. Hear our thoughts on their chances.
Also chats about a few players, including Erik’s favorite topic. (Goalkeepers).
