Erik Bergrud from the Kansas City Comets broadcast team and Thad Bell from the Kansas City Soccer Journal recorded the latest episode of The Blue Turf. After beating Utica City, the Comets headed North to face the Wave. It was not pretty, nothing went their way and the Milwaukee faithful were fired up for their rivals. Kansas City’s win streak came to an end in Milwaukee with that huge loss against the Wave.

The Comets are battling through a pair of key injuries, Rian Marques (hamstring) and Zach Reget (back). One is bad enough, but two top scorers and headed to one of the toughest places to play to face back-to-back champions makes for a tough Chihuahua road trip.

Returning home to host the San Diego Sockers on Sunday does not get easier. The Sockers will be hoping for a win to improve their spot in the standings but will be on the last leg of a three games in five days stretch themselves.

We discuss the previous and upcoming matches as well as how coach Stokic might approach these games. Will he go all out for only one game or go all in for both, Stay tuned.

This is probably the video that Erik referenced during the pod. Two great teams of the 1980’s and a young Erik in attendance and getting a little rowdy.
