Preview: Women’s College Cup in Kansas City
Three teams from the ACC and one Big 12 side face off
The 2025 NCAA DI women’s soccer tournament semifinals take place today at CPKC Stadium in Kansas City. Three teams from the ACC (Florida State, Duke and Standford) versus one from the Big 12 (TCU). It is the fourth consecutive season and 16th overall for the ACC to have multiple teams in the Women’s College Cup. Both matches will be broadcast on ESPNU.

Semifinal 1: Florida State vs. TCU, 5 p.m.Â
TCU (18-2-3)
TCU finished first in the Big 12 and advanced to their first NCAA Women’s College Cup after a tremendous postseason run. They won their first two matches of the tournament by a combined 11-0 scoreline. They then beat defending national champion and traditional powerhouse North Carolina. It took a last second equalizer to before getting a 4-3 penalty kick victory. The Horned Frogs upset the top-seeded Vanderbilt side 2-1 in the quarterfinals to earn the semifinal spot in Kansas City.
Florida State (14-2-4)
Florida State finished fourth in the ACC and advanced to its their 15th Women’s College Cup after rolling through the first four rounds. They only gave up two goeals and won three of their four matches by multiple goals, outscoring their opponents 12-2 to make it to the semifinals. It is their fifth College Cup appearance in six years.
Semifinal 2: Duke vs. Stanford, 7:45 p.m.Â
Duke (17-4-1)
The Blue Devils finished third in the ACC with a 7-3 record but advanced to its sixth NCAA Women’s College Cup without giving up a goal. They outscored their opponents 9-0 including a 2-0 defeat over Kansas.  shutout streak to four matches. Minestrella has scored six goals in the tournament, setting program records for career NCAA goals (10) and points (23). Goalkeeper Caroline Dysart added her 11th shutout of the season against Washington. With four consecutive clean sheets, Duke improved to 17-4-1 and became the only team in the 2025 NCAA tournament yet to concede a goal.
Stanford (20-1-2)
Stanford finished first in the ACC with a 9-0-1 record with their only blemish in conference play a 2-2 draw at Clemson. Stanford is the number one ranked team in the nation and have scored the most goals (95) in the country, 24 more than the closest team. They do score a lot, but can also be scored on as well. In the tournament so far, they have scored 21 goals and allowed 5. Opponents will have to be watchful of senior midfielder Jasmine Aikey. She is the TopDrawer Player of the Year and is a Mac Hermann Trophy semi-finalist. Senior defender Elise Evans is also a Mac Hermann Trophy semi-finalist.
