Erik Bergrud from the Kansas City Comets broadcast team and Thad Bell from the Kansas City Soccer Journal recorded the latest episode of The Blue Turf. We were at the now “World Famous” Kansas City Soccer Dome for Media Day. The Comets had a scrimmage, fans came out, new uniforms were unveiled and a pod was recorded. Erik and Thad discussed the recent signings, some observations from the scrimmage, and much more.

After Erik had to leave, Neto and coach Stokic stopped by to discuss the upcoming season. Neto discussed the competition at keeper and some of the players he expects to break out and have a great season.

Coach Stokic was generous with his time. We discussed new players, and where he is with the roster build. What second-year players are now expected to be even better. Stokic also talks about what he learned as a coach last season. Despite his previous coaching experience, it was a new challenge and required him to adapt.

Thad poked a little bit at legendary referee Ron Cory who was one of the two referees called in to make the scrimmage as realistic as possible. Ron is retired and has a great sense of humor. Usually…
