Another rough weekend for Sporting KC at both professional levels as Sporting KC and Sporting KC II both lost their games again this weekend. On Saturday night in Carson, CA, Sporting’s first team fell 4-1 against the LA Galaxy. On Sunday afternoon in KC, Sporting KC II fell to LA’s second team, Ventura County FC 2-1. A loss that clinched the “wooden spoon” for Sporting’s second team as the club sits on 17 points, four behind second bottom, Columbus Crew 2. Here are the stats and milestones from this weekend.

Sporting KC

Sporting KC tied the club record for most goals conceded in a league season at 67. This ties the 2019 season.

Dejan Joveljic scored his 18th goal of the season, this ties him with Preki’s 1996 season for the 2nd most goals in a single season for the club.

In the 23rd minute, Khiry Shelton passed 10,000 league minutes played for Kansas City. He’s the 26th player to reach that mark.

Daniel Salloi made his 240th league appearance for KC, tying him with Davy Arnaud for 5th all time on that list.

Salloi started his 216th start in all competitions for KC, tying him with Chris Klein for 11th all time on that list.

It was his 199th start in MLS competitions, tying him with Klein for 11th all time on that list as well.

Memo Rodriguez made his 50th appearance in all competitions for KC. He’s the 97th player to reach that mark.

Sporting KC II

At 14 years, 251 days, Zamir Loyo Reynaga became the youngest player to appear for SKCII in a league game or in all competitions.

Maouloune Goumballe scored his 14th league goal for KC, tying him with Mark Anthony Gonzalez for 5th all time on that list.

It was his 14th goal in all competitions, breaking his tie with Pau Vidal and Ethan Bryant for 6th all time on that list.

In the 27th minute, Goumballe passed Jake Davis and moved into 8th place for league minutes played for KC. In the 58th minute, he passed Wan Kuzain and moved into 7th place all time on that list. He finished the game with 4,543 minutes played.

Goumballe made his 52nd league start, breaking his tie with Davis and Kuzain for 7th all time on that list.

Goumballe made his 53rd start in all competitions, tying him with Kuzain for 8th all time on that list.

Goumballe and Cielo Tschantret made their 55th appearance in all competitions for KC, tying them with Parker Maher, Nansel Selbol, and Tyler Pasher for 12th all time on that list.

In the 72nd minute, Tschantret passed Sebastian Cruz and moved into 17th place all time for league minutes played for KC. He finished the game with 3,850 minutes played.

Tschantret made his 43rd league start, tying him with Pasher for 15th all time on that list.

Tschantret made his 44th start in all competitions, tying him with John Pulskamp for 16th all time on that list.
