The Kansas City Current advanced, winning the Central Division of the UKG NWSL Challenge Cup thanks to a 3-0 win over Racing Louisville on Saturday in Kansas City. Unfortunately it was the only good news for KC teams this past weekend as both Sporting KC and Sporting KC II fell in their games this past weekend. Sporting fell 4-1 on Friday night to Deportivo Toluca. On Sunday, Sporting KC II had their three game winning streak snapped on the road by the Houston Dynamo 2 by a 3-1 score line. Here are the stats and milestones from the games.

Sporting KC

Roger Espinoza made his 12th appearance in international competitions for KC, tying him with Nick Garcia, Matt McKeon, and Francisco Gomez for 5th all time on that list.

Johnny Russell made his 158th start in all competitions for KC, breaking his tie with Mo Johnston for 16th all time on that list.

Marinos Tzionis made his 50th appearance in all competitions for KC, he’s the 87th player to reach that mark.

Tzionis made his 35th substitute appearance in all competitions, tying him with Jimmy Medranda and Cam Duke for 18th all time on that list.

Hailie Mace recorded her 10th assist in all competitions for KC, breaking her tie with Lo LaBonta for the most all time.

In the 29th minute, Elizabeth Ball passed Kristen Edmonds and moved into 3rd place all time for minutes played in all competitions. She finished the game with 4,473 minutes played.

Ball made her 52nd start in all competitions, tying her with Edmonds for 3rd all time on that list.

In the 67th minute, Kate Del Fava passed Edmonds and moved into 4th place all time for minutes played in all competitions. She finished the game with 4,435 minutes played.
