A perfect weekend for Kansas City soccer with games on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday among Kansas City’s three teams. All three games were at home, and all three teams came away with wins. The KC Current got the weekend started with a 2-0 win on Friday night over the Houston Dash on a pair of goals from Temwa Chawinga. On Saturday Sporting KC continued to mess with Texas as they took down Austin FC 2-0 with Tim Leibold and Stephen Afrifa scoring. On Sunday, Sporting KC II finished the weekend out with a 2-2 (5-3) shootout win over Austin FC II at Rock Chalk Park thanks to a pair of goals from Beto Avila. Here are the stats and milestones from this weekend.

KC Current

KC set an NWSL record as they’ve now gone 17 games in a row without a loss.

The win was KC’s 10th of the season, tying this season with the 2022 season with the most wins in a league season in team history.

Vlatko Andonovski recorded his 10th league win as head coach of KC, tying him with Matt Potter for the most league wins by a coach in club history.

Temwa Chawinga’s 2 goals gave her 11 in league play for KC, she’s the first player to reach double digit goals in a league season for KC.
