It was a rough Saturday night for Kansas City professional soccer teams as Sporting KC and the KC Current loss by a combined 7-2 in their two games on the road. The Current started the night, falling 4-2 in Chicago against the Chicago Red Stars. Sporting finished the night, dropping a 3-0 result to the San Jose Earthquakes. The weekend had started off quite well for the professional teams as Sporting KC II picked up a big road win on Friday night, defeating the Real Monarchs 4-0. The largest road win for KC’s second team since a 3-0 win over the Charlotte Independence in 2019.

Here are the stats and milestones from this past weekend.

Sporting KC

Remi Walter made his 50th consecutive start in league play for KC.

Tim Melia made his 219 league appearance for KC, breaking his tie with Preki for 7th all time on that list.

Johnny Russell made his 156th appearance in MLS competitions, breaking his tie with Ilie Sanchez for 18th all time on that list.

It was Russell’s 169th appearance in all competitions, tying him with Mo Johnston for 19th all time on that list.

Russell made his 145th start in all competitions, breaking his tie with Josh Wolff for 18th all time on that list.

Russell made his 125th start in league play for KC, tying him with Tony Meola for 20th all time on that list.

Cam Duke made his 32nd substitute appearance in league play, tying him with Jimmy Medranda and Paul Wright for 16th all time on that list.

It was Duke’s 33rd substitute appearance in MLS competitions, tying him with Medranda, Wright, Chance Myers, and Davy Arnaud for 15th all time on that list.

It was his 35th substitute appearance in all competitions, tying him with Medranda for 17th all time on that list.

Lo LaBonta made her 42nd league appearance for the Current, tying her with Kristen Edmonds for the most all time.

In the 64th minute, Adrianna Franch passed Desiree Scott and moved into 5th place all time for minutes played in all competitions for the Current. She finished the game with 3,510 minutes played.

Franch made her 31st league appearance, tying her with Scott for 8th all time on that list.

Franch made her 31st league start, breaking her tie with Victoria Pickett for 5th all time on that list.

Franch made her 39th start in all competitions, breaking her tie with Pickett for 6th all time on that list.
