On Sunday the Kansas City Current came to a close one game sooner than the team wanted to, falling 3-2 to the Orlando Pride. Debinha and Vanessa DiBernardo scored the goals for the Current in defeat. Orlando will now travel to Kansas City for the NWSL final this coming weekend against the Washington Spirit who defeated Gotham FC 3-0 in a shootout after a 1-1 draw. KC Current

Debinha scored her 20th goal in all competitions for KC, tying her with Lo LaBonta for 3rd all time on that list.

Vanessa DiBernardo scored her 7th goal in all competitions for KC, tying her with Hailie Mace for 7th all time on that list.

DiBernardo made her 40th start in all competitions, tying her with Desiree Scott for 12th all time on that list.

Michelle Cooper’s assist was her 6th in all competitions for KC, tying her with Elyse Bennett and Temwa Chawinga for 7th all time on that list.

Ellie Wheeler made her 21st start in all competitions, tying her with Rachel Corsie for 19th all time on that list.

KC NWSL

The loss to Orlando was the first playoff loss by a KC NWSL team to a team other than the Portland Thorns.

DiBernardo’s goal was her 7th in all competitions for KC NWSL teams, tying her with Mace for 12th all time on that list.

Cooper made her 55th appearance in all competitions for KC NWSL teams, breaking her tie with Katie Bowen for 16th all time on that list.

In the 19th minute, Debinha passed Brittany Kolmel and moved into 20th all time for minutes played in all competitions for KC NWSL teams. She finished the game with 3,847 minutes played.
