Across State Lines: Feilhaber Not Returning to Oakland

The USL Championship regular season ended this past week and while the playoffs are set to kick off, one team has already started looking ahead to 2026. The Oakland Roots announced this past week that head coach, Benny Feilhaber wouldn’t be returning as the club’s head coach in 2026. Feilhaber had joined Oakland back on June 2nd after the club removed Gavin Glinton as the club’s coach after they started the season 3-7-1. Feilhaber led the Roots to a 5-7-7 in his 19 games in charge with the club. Oakland though finished five points outside the playoff chase in the USL’s Western Conference.
