What We Want to Happen Today 9/27

It’s US Open Cup final day and the Houston Dynamo and Inter Miami will take the field in Fort Lauderdale tonight, but even though it’s a cup final, there are actually MLS games today as well, along with Los Angeles FC playing Tigres in the Campeones Cup. The two MLS games tonight certainly have playoff implications for Sporting KC as well with two of the teams in action being within three points of Kansas City in the standings. Here’s a look at tonight’s two MLS games and what KC fans should be rooting for.

Philadelphia vs Dallas
What We Want to Happen: Philadelphia win

East vs West, go East. FC Dallas sits one point ahead of Kansas City but will still have one game in hand on Sporting after this game. So in this case, KC want Dallas to drop points.

Colorado vs Vancouver
What We Want to Happen: Colorado win

The Colorado Rapids can no longer catch Sporting on points as their max point total is 37 and KC sit on 38. So with that in mind, the Rapids beating the Vancouver Whitecaps would keep KC within three points of Vancouver with the Whitecaps still having a game in hand.
