Kinda and Tzionis Called Up for Euro Qualifiers

Sporting Kansas City have had two players called up for the upcoming international window. Both the Israeli FA and Cyprian FA have announced that Gadi Kinda and Marionos Tzionis have been called up for their upcoming EURO qualifiers. Sporting has announced the Tzionis call up for Cyprus but has yet to announce the Kinda call up. This could be because Kinda is battling an ankle injury that kept him out of KC’s 3-0 win over the San Jose Earthquakes last week, and currently has him listed as questionable for tomorrow’s game against St. Louis City.

Tzionis and Cyprus first game of the international window will potentially have some bragging rights within the Sporting KC team as Cyprus will be hosting Scotland on Friday September 8th. Their second game will see Cyprus travel to Granada to take on Spain. Currently Cyprus sit last in the five team Group A in qualifying with three losses, two goals scored, and eight against. Tzionis will be looking to add to his twenty-four caps and two goals in those games.

Kinda and Israel sit in a better situation than Cyprus, having already at least qualified for the playoffs because of their finish in UEFA Nations League. This window Israel will be traveling first to Romania on the 9th before hosting Belarus on the 12th. Israel currently sit in third place in their group with a 2-1-1 record, one point behind their first opponent Romania. For Kinda it would be his chance to earn his first cap in almost two years as his last one came in a World Cup qualifier against Moldova in October of 2021.

Both players would miss Kansas City’s game against Inter Miami on September 9th in Fort Lauderdale. Sporting will be in a better situation than Miami though who will be without at least nine players for the game.
