9 minutes in, and Berhalter looks clearly the best player on the field.

Josh Wallace

True.

Josh Wallace

At some point, SKC has to get pressure on the ball. You can’t spend 90-plus minutes playing in your box. Vancouver is just switching play whenever they want. This is just way too easy.

Josh Wallace

Yeah, Brody is getting picked on every single time they have the ball.

Josh Wallace

Radoja is doing such a good job of giving Brody cover.

David in the chat

He’s just not good enough for this level of competition

Josh Wallace

I’m certain KS has to see that too, so why not trot Jake Davis at right back? He certainly won’t be this bad.

Too easy. I didn’t have high hopes for this game, especially without Manu, so I’m honestly not that disappointed by that goal, but I hate watching a team walk into the goal

Josh Wallace

It is nearly impossible to stay in games playing 4-3-3 when you get almost nothing from your wingers. No one is taking on anybody or even running at someone. All of this, and it still baffles me that SKC have a player on their bench in Afrifa, who had the most take-ons among forwards in the least amount of minutes in the MLS last season.

Questionmark

Yeah, I’m really curious as to why he’s gotten no playing time this season.

David in the chat

I love that Vancouver just keeps doing the same thing over and over. Diagonal switch to Nelson. At what point do we adapt? Or sub brody? This is awful

jdkus11

Oof. Sporting has been a second half team this season, but the problem is the second half doesn’t start until nearly 11 PM. I hope they can work some magic next half; ill be snoozing soundly.

The “plan” – whatever it was – has been terrible. Cap that off with the midfield we have, and it’s a recipe for disaster.

Radoja: I’ve never been a fan, he’s never done anything that makes his $1m+ salary make even an ounce of sense.
On that 2nd goal, he) literally stands, watching the whole thing happen. A simple step on the guy he was staring at and he could have easily disrupted him/him getting a shot off and scoring. He’s covered Brody here and there, but that’s not enough.

Bartlett: he’s not ready, and hasn’t been for awhile. He’s hit the ceiling that he’s going to for right now. He’ll probably get better, but right now, he is what he is, and it’s not near enough. He has a few awful giveaways each game, his reaction time is too slow, and he doesn’t read the game anywhere near a high enough level.

Then there’s Brody. Man, he’s just flat out not very good. I used to be a Shelton hater, but I’ll gladly take him at RB over Brody

To come out at the half and not make a single change is coaching malpractice. You could have brought in Munoz, Davis, or Mason Toye.

MathTeach1977

The starting line up just screamed of a game SKC assumed they would lose. Basically started 3 defensive midfielders, a RB that should be coaching a High School team instead of playing professional soccer and a backup LB.
