This week in soccer in KC and elsewhere: 6/25 – 6/29

There is a lot of soccer of interest to Kansas City fans right now, from grassroots to international play. Sporting KC needs wins and will see some old friends this week. The Current are off, but they have players with multiple national teams and are hosting a U17 team.

A lot of good local teams playing each other which needs fan support as well. Sunflowerstate FC have a doubleheader (men and women teams), both facing local rivals.

SunFlower State FC vs Union KC

4:00 PM, Pembroke Hill High School, KCMO

Two of the three local WPSL teams face off in the opening match of Sunflower State’s double header. Union KC won the first meeting on Sunday 2-1. Union is in 2^nd place in the standings with Sunflower State just 3 points behind.

Sunflower State FC vs Santafe Wanderers

7:00 PM, Pembroke Hill High School, KCMO

The two local Kansas City USL 2 teams face off in their second meeting. Sunflower won 4-2 at Santafe two weeks ago. Sunflower State is 3^rd in their division with a 4-3-1 record while Santafe is 5^th with a 2-6-0 record.

Union KC vs FC Wichita

Union KC is 4^th out of four and looking for their first win (three draws and four defeats).

First meeting in league play between them but the two teams did meet in preseason.
