The Kansas City Comets season ended on Saturday night in San Diego in the first round of the Ron Newman Cup Playoffs in an 11-7 loss to the Milwaukee Wave. The game had been a back and forth, punch, counter punch game until late in the third quarter when the Wave went on a 4-0 run, taking a 5-5 game to a 9-5 game, effectively getting out of reach. It ends a season for the Comets that started quite brightly but ended with struggles as KC took all three points in just one of their final nine games to end the season, going 1-7-1 getting a win over Milwaukee and an overtime win over Utica City in that stretch.

Here are the stats and milestones from Saturday night’s final game of the season.

Comets

Ignacio Flores made his 200th appearance in all competitions for KC. He’s the 5th player to reach that mark.

Ramone Palmer made his 37th playoff appearance for KC, tying him with Leo Gibson for the most all time.

Palmer’s goal was his 107th in all competitions for KC, breaking his tie with Bryan Perez for 6th all time on that list.

Lucas Sousa’s 2 goals gave him 13 in the playoffs for KC, tying him with Flores for 5th all time on that list.

Sousa’s 2 goals gave him 19 points in the playoffs for KC, tying him with Byron Alvarez for 6th all time on that list.

Rian Marques recorded his 8th playoff assist for KC, breaking his tie with Perez for 6th all time on that list.

Marques made his 99th appearance in all competitions, tying him with Milan Ivanovic for 15th all time on that list.

Zach Reget’s assist gave him 109 points in all competitions for KC, breaking his tie with Robert Palmer for 12th all time on that list.

Christian Anderaos made his 96th appearance in all competitions, breaking his tie with Kiel Williams for 17th all time on that list.

KC Indoor

Flores became the 23rd player to make 200 appearances across all competitions for KC indoor teams.

Palmer made his 37th playoff appearance for KC indoor teams, tying him with Gibson and Brian Haynes for 10th all time on that list.

Sousa’s 2 goals gave him 13 in the playoffs for KC indoor teams, tying him with Flores and Jeff Rogers for 20th all time on that list.
