The Kansas City Comets ended the 2024-2025 MASL regular season with a two game road trip to the East Coast taking on Utica City FC and the Baltimore Blast. Undermanned the Comets went 1-1 on the weekend, defeating Utica City on Friday 7-6 in overtime thanks to two goals and an assist from Lucas Sousa. On Sunday, even further undermanned, the Comets fell to the Blast 8-5. The loss saw the Comets drop from the third seed to the fourth seed in the Ron Newman Cup Playoffs that start on Friday. The Comets will take on the Milwaukee Wave on Saturday night in San Diego. In the regular season, the Comets went 1-2 against the Wave, losing 6-5 in OT and 13-3 in Milwaukee and winning 9-6 at home.
