Let’s gooo!
No Izzy. Hrmm.
This is incredible just watching on TV. Can’t imagine what it’s like in person.
I really thought she was going to take it herself there. The pass seemed to be a mistake.
They’re not quite sharp yet, but I love what I’m seeing. Bia is a beast. She’s already held the ball up a few times which we needed badly last year.
GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLL
Love the train as the goal sound haha
LET’S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
MAKE IT THREEEEEEEE
This is a lot better than the first match at Sporting Park
As I said earlier, these women are ready to play!
Not loving these hammy injuries
Concerned about Ball’s injury but so glad to see Dibernardo healthy. I think she could be huge this season. Also, Wheeler and Hutton are doing quite well.
So exciting to see the new players involved right away.
Love Mace, but she can make a routine defensive play into a real adventure
Would really love a fourth goal just for insurance. Couple of nervy moments to start the half.
Yes very nervy… I’d love another goal
You got it!
HAMILTON!!!!
Wow! Chawinga is FAST
Amazing job by Chawinga to set that up. She’s a fantastic option coming off the bench with that speed and control.
WATER NOISES
NERVOUS WATER NOISES
Glad to see Sofia on the bench… good grief.
oh NO
Love the 3 points but too many goals allowed.
Things I learned:
Being Sofia’s Smith’s opposition is not fun. Bia Zaneratto is electrifying and just so solid. Having her and Debinha on our side… it’s a lovely thing, I feel like I don’t deserve it. I didn’t know anything about Chawinga… what a find! As a commentator said, she is a menace on both sides of the ball, glad she’s on our side! Well-placed goal by the youngster Pfeiffer, the moment wasn’t too big for her. Cooper didn’t play, and Debinha went out early. But the attacking prowess of this team is outrageous. If they can stay healthy, they are going to be fun to watch all year long.
Was it just me or did Chawinga seem a bit gassed in stoppage time? Either way, what an exciting player! I thought Lavogez struggled last season after returning from injury, but she looked good today which was awesome to see. I was very happy with the style of soccer our women were playing, especially after two years of “kick it long and chase.” They need to figure out when not to attempt a short pass, but that’ll come with time. Lastly, I couldn’t be happier with the young players and Vlatko’s willingness to play them. I didn’t expect to see all 3 in week 1 nor did I expect them to hold their own against the Thorns.
