Juice Boxes and Post Game Stats: Losses at Home

Sporting KC and Sporting KC II both suffered home defeats this weekend in league action for both. Sporting KC fell 1-0 on Saturday night to San Diego FC. On Sunday evening at Swope Park, Sporting KC II fell in their home opener to the Real Monarchs 5-0. Here are the stats and milestones from the games.

Sporting KC

The announced attendance, 14,294, is the lowest attended regular season home game for Sporting outside COVID related attendance limitations since the opening of Sporting Park.

At 19 years, 60 days, Donovan became the 9th youngest player to appear in a league game for KC.

Donovan became the 11th youngest player to appear in a game in all competitions for KC.

The loss was John Pulskamp’s 36th in league play, breaking his tie with Kevin Hartman for 4th all time on that list.

It was his 42nd loss in all competitions, breaking his tie with Jimmy Nielsen for 3rd all time on that list.

Sporting KC II

Zamir Loyo Reynaga became the youngest player to start a game in league play and in all competitions for Sporting KC II.

Luca Antongirolami became he 2nd youngest player to start a game in league play and in all competitions for Sporting KC II.

Cielo Tschantret made his 56th league appearance for KC, tying him with Sebastian Cruz for 11th all time on that list.

It was his 57th appearance in all competitions, tying him with Kaveh Rad for 11th all time on that list.

It was his 44th league start for KC, tying him with John Pulskamp for 14th all time on that list.

It was his 45th start in all competitions, breaking his tie with Pulskamp for 16th all time on that list.

In the 66th minute, Tschantret passed Pulskamp and moved into 14th all time for league minutes played for SKCII. He finished the game with 3,985 minutes played.

In the 1st minute, Tschantret broke his tie with Pulskamp for 17th all time for minutes played in all competitions. In the 13th minute, Tschantret passed Chris Rindov and moved into 16th all time. In the 53rd minute, Tschantret then passed Wilson Harris and moved into 15th all time on that list. He finished the game with 4,050 minutes played.

Johann Ortiz made his 24th substitute appearance in league play for KC, tying him with Jahon Rad for 2nd all time on that list.

It was his 24th substitute appearance in all competitions, tying him with Rad for 2nd all time on that list as well.

Carter Derksen made his 14th substitute appearance in league play for KC, tying him with Medgy Alexandre and Nati Clarke for 19th all time on that list.
