Did EA leak the new Sporting Kansas City away shirt?
New kit announcements are a big deal each year that fans look forward to. Clubs take great care to make sure that the announcement happens at the right time, in the right way, with the proper pomp and circumstance.
Unless, of course, EA Sports accidentally leaks low resolution photos of the new shirts onto the EA Sports FC marketplace.
Oops.
It appears someone at EA made a mistake as dozens of new MLS shirts appeared on the EA Sports FC marketplace this morning available for in-game purchase.
Sporting KC’s away shirt appears to be among the leaks.
It seems EA may have inadvertently released the new #SportingKC away kit before the official launch.

It’s not a super detailed view, but here’s a slightly better look at the shirt:
Of course we have no way of confirming whether or not this is the actual new away shirt. There have been rumors that argyle was making its return this year, so this leak would seem to track with that rumor. There were also many other MLS shirts leaked in the game, so it would seem unlikely that EA would get that many new shirts wrong, but we won’t know for sure until the new kit is announced by Sporting KC at a yet-to-be announced date.

So stoked to see argyle back! It’s an absolute must-cop. The only thing is that there’s also gonna be a third jersey, so we’ll have to keep our eyes peeled for that as well.
Adidas have been giving us the weak sauce lately. Bring back the argyle! Bring back the state line kits!!!

If this is the kit, which I suspect it is, I like it. I want to see better pictures of course. I think at a distance it might be hard to see all that detail but you won’t have to be as close as the 2022-23 secondary kit to see what’s going on.
If they get a third kit, let’s hope they do something sort of wild. I like the hoops (and I may be in the minority) and I like paying homage to other kits of the past with new twists. The third kit will be a chance to do what the last two argyle kits did and take a chance.
There are rumors that the MLS third kits will feature the city or club names on the front where the sponsor would be. This gives me hopes for a Wizards retro jersey!
