Boy did that feel like both a hard earned three points and a game that could have been a really crushing loss early on. I’m glad it turned out well, and I thought for a lot of the game we looked pretty sharp too! Slow out of the gate and another stretch of classic Sporting Kansas City “making it interesting” but three points at home feels like a big relief, and well earned.

I feel like I can just leave a sampling of comments I made during the game to sum up my feelings:

8:52 PM We look like uninspired butt so far, this game.

9:00 PM Okay yeah back to square zero that’s better. Real game starts now.

9:11 PM Oh sweet! That’s the Pulido connection I’ve been wanting to see.

9:21 PM Vermes suit is giving me a headache.

10:26 PM Of course. What a silly yellow from Salloi.

10:26 PM Wow cool VAR got it right quickly!

10:39 PM It’d be awesome if we could win games decisively more often lol.

And, honestly, I think that describes it really well in a nicely distilled timeline. But let’s get to some highly arbitrary numbers for Sporting KC and the San Jose Earthquakes, yes?

Overall, I think pretty fair! Really, I was just happy to see Pulido get on the board, and what a great goal it was.

So here we are. Six points from four games. Are we feeling good? I feel like at this point some of my anxiety over the start of the season is easing, and that’s a good thing!
