I’m a little surprised that Gutierrez starts over Kinda. In must-win games, it seems as if Vermes will go to a more offensive Kinda and Thommy midfield. In the game against STL we were solid on the counterpress most of the game with Guti but just didn’t finish off their clear-cut chances. A Kinda and Thommy midfield would do that and create more. We will see how this goes…

SKC should really press for a second and try and end this game early. You don’t want Salt Lake to have any hope going into halftime.
We need to win by 3 or 4 to make a big difference in playoff chances.
3 or 4 goals is a very real possibility in this game but they can’t play nonchalantly and give RSL hope.
We are slowing the game down instead of stepping on their throats. This is a mistake. We should be pressing the hell out of them and moving quickly to make them more tired.

I’m looking at having likely tied records for wins/draws/losses. To me, I think GD is the biggest factor that we can control right now. Which is why I want us to bury them.
We’ll see what happens when FCD play Colorado, if all 3 avenues to the playoffs are still open after that game than that draw was definitely the better outcome.

2-0 up a man is exactly what you want. RSL also just lost Arango. I’d bet they don’t plan on pressing much harder to win knowing they are already in the playoffs. Go into halftime up 2-0, make a few changes, and get a couple more goals to finish this match off.

I don’t understand how SKC has gotten beat with the same type of action several times. RSL are simply playing long balls and flicking onto runners. Why not just drop and win the flicks and keep the ball.

Absolutely! I would expect Walter and Guti to snag a few, but it seemed like we were losing nearly every first ball and for sure every second ball. If there were a few more minutes on the clock, I’m not sure we come away with a win.

I think pete was trying to show us why he doesn’t use his subs more often. he is bad at subbing. this game was begging for agada the whole 2nd half, but he was brought on too late.
