A week with two wins and a loss for Kansas City’s soccer teams. The KC Current started the weekend off on Friday night with a 1-0 loss to the visiting Angel City FC. Saturday as the big show with Sporting KC taking on St. Louis City SC, coming away with a 2-1 win to keep their push to try to find a way into the playoffs this year. On Sunday, Sporting KC II clinched their first playoff berth since the 2018 USL Championship season with a 5-1 win over LA Galaxy 2 5-1 out West. Here are the stats and milestones from the games.

Sporting KC

Tim Melia made his 225th league appearance for KC, breaking his tie with Nick Garcia for 6th all time on that list.

Melia made his 254th appearance in all competitions, tying him with Preki for 8th all time on that list.

Melia made his 225th start in league play, breaking his tie with Garcia for 5th all time on that list.

Roger Espinoza made his 50th appearance in league play for KC, he’s the 3rd player to reach that mark.

Espinoza made his 53rd substitute appearance in MLS competitions, tying him with Jack Jewsbury for the most all time.

Alan Pulido’s 2 goals gave him 28 in all competitions for KC, breaking his tie with Gerso Fernandes and moving him ahead of CJ Sapong and into 15th place all time on that list.
