Match preview: KC Current vs. Racing Louisville

The Current are undefeated at home in 2026. Kansas City is one of two teams that are so far unbeaten at home this season (Portland Thorns are the other), but the Current have the most impressive record at home with an unbeaten streak at CPKC Stadium of 24 matches, the longest run in NWSL history. That streak, which accounts only for the regular season, began Sept. 7, 2024, and the Current have a 20-0-4 record at home since then.

There’s a high probability the Current will extend that streak one more game against Racing Louisville. Kansas City has won three straight games against Louisville. Racing is in the last spot in the NWSL Standings with a 3-10-2 record, but they are coming off a 2-1 win at Angel City, their first win on the road of the season. The Current will, of course again, be without Temwa Chawinga who is representing Malawi at WAFCON. It appears that neither Michelle Cooper or Lorena will be ready to return from injury either, leaving once again Chris Armas to trust an attack led by Debinha, Croix Bethune and rookies Gianna Paul and Amelia White, and in goalkeeper Marisa Jordan, who has allowed six goals in the last three matches.

Will the magic of playing at CPKC Stadium help the Current earn that ninth win of the season, or will they struggle to finish again in the final third like we saw in Boston, and we see their first loss at home?
