A pair of home games for Sporting KC and Sporting KC II this weekend saw the duo come away with one point in the two games. Sporting KC II continued their winless run this season, falling 4-1 to North Texas SC on Friday night. On Saturday, Sporting KC welcomed New York City FC to Children’s Mercy Park. A goal by birthday boy, Daniel Salloi saw the two teams each leave with a point in a 1-1 draw. Here are the stats and milestones from the weekend.

Sporting KC

Daniel Salloi scored against his 20th different opponent in league and 23rd in all competitions, both of which extend his current club record.

Salloi became the 5th player to score a league goal on their birthday while play for KC, joining Paul Wright, Soony Saad, Johnny Russell, and William Agada. Adding in all competitions he’s the 6th, joining the prior four and Gerso Fernandes.

In the 17th minute, Salloi passed Chris Klein and moved into 11th all time for minutes played in all competitions for KC. He finished the game with 19,511 minutes played.

In the 80th minute, Khiry Shelton reached 10,000 minutes played in MLS competitions for KC. He’s the 28th player to reach that mark.

Sporting KC II

The 12 losses ties the club record for losses in MLS Next Pro.

Nati Clarke made his 50th league start for KC, he’s the 8th player to reach that mark.

Making his 50th league start broke Clarke’s tie with Wilson Harris for the 8th most all time for KC.

Clarke made his 62nd appearance in league play for KC, tying him with Jake Davis for 7th all time on that list.

Clarke made his 51st start in all competitions, tying him with Davis for 9th all time on that list.

In the 68th minute, Maouloune Goumballe passed Parker Maher and moved into 18th all time for league minutes played for KC. He finished the game with 3,553 minutes played.

Goumballe made his 41st league start for KC, tying him with Kharlton Belmar for 16th all time on that list.

It was his 42nd start in all competitions for KC, tying him with Maher for 17th all time on that list.

Strange choice – by me – to make a Current comment on an SKC story, but there is nothing, um, current on the Current.

Anyway, they made some interesting moves with the lower ends of their roster. Loaned Jereko, who hadn’t really played much, to the team the Longs just bought in Denmark. Then another 4 of the young players that had been playing this summer as Current II also signed with them. Interesting in a multi-ownership, farm-team situation.
