I get the rotation but I feel like Afrifa isn’t the one we want. It pains me to say I would’ve rather seen Shelton start, but rather at winger and put Salloi at forward. Also, can we please see good alert Rosero and not someone who looks like he just slammed snooze on his alarm?!!!! Maybe we even see a flash of Guti tonight.
Daniel isn’t built to play CF. Shelton isn’t built to play USL let alone mls. If anything it would be Gadi as a false nine
Wow Afrifa is quick
Good energy from Afrifa. Also, is it just me or is this audio way messed up? I think the Spanish and English announcer are announcing in the same room.
Lol @ their 6 fouling himself out of the game. It was a foul but dive less next time
Open players in the box and we give up a goal. Who would have guessed….
Woof.
Uugggghhhhhhhh
Even though the back line hasn’t shown up for this game, McIntosh is simply not good enough.
at most you can blame him for the back line being disorganized…neither of the goals are saves that your average MLS starter makes
He’s never good. On his best nights he ok.
Downvote all you want. I spit facts.
Whelp. Don’t have to worry about blowing the lead this game. :/
Wow. Just wow.

PV Squad Rotation
7/15/23-7/15/23
We’ll never see this much rotation again in our lifetimes
When you give them crap minutes, they will give you crap minutes.
But yea, I wonder who is black listed after this.
Two crosses, no pressure on the ball, and no one challenging for the ball. Those are gifts.
As much as we might want to knock squad rotation, the folks who gave up that goal outside of ndenbe are main starters, (Davis, mcintosh, Rosero, Fontas). Im not blaming Afrifa and Tzionis for those goals.
Right. We won’t. But PV will.
lol yeah he will.
Fantas has been a defensive liability for 2 years. But Vermes will never stop trotting him out.
And Rosero had his customary mental lapse very early.
yeah, the second one is on Fontas for that wack ass clearance attempt…not sure how u blame the others…once Fontas whiffs, Ndembe and McIntosh can’t do anything…I guess you can possibly blame Rosero, but I couldn’t tell why he was out of the play
Rosero! Yes sir!
Love the rocket from Rosero. Maybe Afrifa can get the equalizer.
what’s the temps on the field i wonder…looks pretty rough
I THINK DRIUSSI IS DONE! I mean I am deeply concerned by your injury as you hurt whatever it was (payin very close attention).
have you guys noticed that we seem to run the offense down whichever side that PV stands on in a given half? it seems like that’s a pattern the opponents can exploit…
As I watch this game I wonder if Gadi Kinda would’ve been a better decision as the offensive 8 this game. When you have Salloi up top who will make runs in behind, I think the playmaking of Kinda would just add more to get him and Afrifa into the game.
Also, I wish Afrifa would offer a little bit more off the ball in the offense (he’s been really good off the ball on defense). I didn’t see him once, try to check to the ball to drag a defender with him or try to combine with a winger or midfield. It’s okay to occupy two defenders up top, but it becomes predictable when that’s what you do all half.
it will be interesting to see pv’s sub plan for the 2nd half, but it is quite a strange feeling to be behind, but still thinking a comeback is possible with the playes that are on the bench
Also, I know a lot of people love, or at least like Mcintosh, but to be honest, a good goalkeeper can keep at least one of those out. The first goal, the ball is headed down to him, he could parry that away or catch it. The second looks like it hits him in the hands. That could be pushed out too. I think it’s fair to hold him to a higher standard than just the routine saves every game.
first one no way…it’s an open header from 3 yards away…it’s impossible to catch/intentionally parry it away to the side from that distance…the time is just not there…
I do like him. But I like him as a person, not necessarily because he’s a great goalkeeper. I also feel like we have been spoiled by ridiculous good goalkeeping over the last decade plus. McIntosh (imo) is a good backup. In extended action his flaws stand out, but he does a good enough job to give us the opportunity to win.
That’s a BS yellow. Even the announcers blatantly said that’s the wrong call
Likely to be overturned in MLS Disco since kinda got fined for RSL game.
wouldn’t mind a replay on that potential handball
11 points dropped from winning position since June 3rd…. that’s damning.
17 pts dropped from winning positions on the season. Most in MLS. Easily.
I like what he does most of the time, but Salloi leaves me scratching me head a bit more than I’d like..
Maybe bringing on a defender for him will get us that tying goal…
Haha, no. I don’t want to see him benched or anything. Some decisions and consistency are just a bit off at the worst times it seems. I’ve seen his immense potential shining through at times. I’d like to see him really put it together and be more consistent with it. He could be a constant dangerous threat.
Salloi is way overpaid for what he produces. Too streaky. Remember fontas had more goals than him one season
Terrible take.
To expand:
Last year salloi was 2nd on the team in goals with 7 (xG of 5.something) and led the team in assists with 3.
This year salloi is 2nd on the team in goals with 5 and leads the team in assists with 3.
He’s hardly the problem. Lots of guys getting paid as much or more and producing less.
I mean, last year and this year are not the best measuring sticks. He is not consistent enough to play the minutes that he does. Is he the problem? No, but he is representative of it. Much like Shelton but in different form.
What are the best measuring sticks then? Im confused. He won the team golden boot. The he fell off for two years. One of which was the covid shortened season. Then he rebounded to win the team golden boot and followed it up with two seasons where he led the team in assists and was 2nd in goals.
He has consistently over performed his xG over the last 3 years meaning he’s finishing. He’s underperforming his xA. Which i put on his teammates. The last two seasons have sucked. It directly affects Salloi’s performance.
He’s not a best XI player in the league. He’s an above average winger who is a solid finisher and has been hurt by the lack of production from his teammates.
The war on Salloi on this site is fascinating given there are much worse players like Kendall McIntosh playing.
Pulido should be screaming at Gutierrez. Gutierrez won the ball and had Pulido wide open running towards the box and played a back pass.
I was screaming at Gutierrez. Come on, it’s right in front of you!
PV coaches offense like basketball in the 1950s and require 5 passes before anyone shoots.
to be fair, we don’t have any aerial targets among our attackers, so we can’t play the longball
A simple forward pass to Pulido would have had him in on goal though, a long all wasn’t the issue here.
im just saying in general
I thought the ball looked under his feet when the opportunity to play him was there. Could be wrong though
Can this team ever directly attack on offense? It’s so frustrating and boring to watch a midfielder and the right back pass back and forth to each other, pass up a shooting chance, and finally kick it 65 yards the other direction to a center back.
Three minutes left in a game you’re losing and pass the ball between the center backs for a full minute, which finally results in a turnover and nearly conceding a third goal.
ur forgetting the new rule that the team with the highest possession % gets an auto-bid into the playoffs
not really sure how first half stoppage time was 7 and second half was 5, but whatever
I think it is 3 goals plus 2 injuries plus 2 subs….. second half had zero goals. Some subs were halftime subs so didn’t count towards stoppage….
The green lights are stupid.
They absolutely didn’t give us enough stoppage time. Especially with all the time wasting.
PV Out.
Even with 20 minutes of stoppage we wouldn’t have done anything. Likely Austin would have scored again. We were desperate, but they looked ready to do anything to close out the game.
I agree. But it’s still extremely annoying.
lol
Give SKC a month and they will just let in more goals
That second half was utterly uninspiring. Bad way to head into the break.
Leave Vermes in Austin
Another bad game. Most games played in the league. 9 games left.
Looking pretty bleak if you ask me.
Right? I keep wondering who is pushing this narrative that PV and SKC have “turned it around.” We’re still terrible! We’ve played 2 games more than almost everyone and are averaging 1 stinkin’ point per game! I can hear ownership claiming PV did enough to get another 5 year extension already. “If you look at just weeks 11-19, ignore the road games, and squint really hard, you’ll see that we had the best record in MLS over that span.” We might very well even make the playoffs just because the West is laughably inept this year (I wouldn’t bet on it, though).
#VermesOut
He might not be the reason SKC is losing, but he is the reason they aren’t winning.
These are his players. It’s his system. He prepares them to play like this.
There’s nothing in this club that isn’t tied directly to him. So yeah, the buck stops with him for losing. #VermesOut
