David

Listening to the local commentary and ally got caught asking if she had enough time to run to the bathroom. Whoops

kcrews123

At the stadium a ton of people are confused about the delay. Can’t say I’m not. The one small cell is moving away from here, and it never even hit here. Must be something a random lightning bolt within the allowed distant

Mike Walker

And they just put up the weather in response to your post!

kcrews123

Yeah it was very nice of them. As soon as it went up the people next to us saw a lightning strike, and the whole area around us went “ohhhhhhhh…”

Kat

Tons of visible lighting strikes from our seats.

Thanks for the downvote. Reminder I’m not welcome here.

David in the Chat

You’re very welcome here.

Eric Vidoni

Agree with David from Chatland. You are an important part of this community.

kcrews123

Was that another missed handball?

Josh Wallace

Collin Smith for FC Dallas is getting eaten alive right now. SKC should keep going at him.

kcrews123

Davis is looking like someone on tired legs who’s able to physically push themselves, but mentally is tired. He’s not playing bad, but looks like he’s one poor decision from a bad foul or overcommitting and leading to a goal

KCSpurs1996

McIntosh has got to work on ball security, saved by the flag 😮‍💨

KCSpurs1996

This was in reference to the spilled save on the offside goal, which looked like he should have held on to. He’s been great otherwise!

David in the Chat

No reason to parry that. McIntosh is a fine backup but he’s not good enough to be a starter.

KCSpurs1996

The link up play on the wings has been superb so far, it feels like a goal is due.

kcrews123

Our backline is looking exhausted and not sharp in the least bit

KCSpurs1996

I really hope we target CB in the summer window. The commentators were just saying that we’re loaded at fullback, which I’d agree with, but Rosero seems like our only quality option in the center. Fontas makes me want to pull my hair out. So plodding and sloppy.

kcrews123

His play has directly led to 3 or 4 of Dallas’ best chances. He’s a liability

Tatito

When isn’t he? Slower than molasses

jdkus11

I’m just glad that we look dangerous. The most painful part of the first ten games was watching us be absolutely anemic on offense.

tom

I don’t understand why our main attacking strategy is still rolling the ball to the end line and trying to one-time cross it while struggling to run it down in bounds. I’d much rather see shots from range than passes to an impossible and easily defended angle.

dal90

posted too early!

tom

Glad to be wrong this time.

jdkus11

I feel like Kinda keep playing passes that we’re either not reading or not ready for. It’s there, but we’re not fully firing.

MisterMurse

They start a run but then give up. You definitely aren’t wrong.

tom

All this passing around the 18 yard box has only led to 4 shots. Kinda, Pulido, Salloi, Thommy can all make 20 yarders. Just let it fly and crash the goal for rebounds.

jdkus11

Dallas are compressing really tight on the 18 which is why they’ve been passing so much to open it up. But I agree, we could stand to take a few more shots.

kcrews123

That questionable foul is a card, but the blatant foul on Thommy wasn’t?

jdkus11

I was thinking the same thinking. The only thing that is consistent about PRO is their inconsistency…

Josh Wallace

Okay, Jake Davis has hit two really good long diagonal passes. He’s clearly learning the skill and that is huge.

kcrews123

Let’s. Go.

tom

Nice, that end line cut pass finally found a shooter.

jdkus11

And we did that while down a man! Let’s get cookin!

KCSpurs1996

Kinda and Thommy are like having two extra wingers. Just too many attackers for Dallas to account for. Let’s get another one!

dal90

man every now and then fontas just decides to have a terrible game

David

Backline is so much boom or bust this year

KCSpurs1996

Pull Fontas at half 🤦

blakeyoh

Just looked at the bench… the only alternative is Castellanos. No Voloder.

KCSpurs1996

Ooof. We badly need some upgrades at CB.

Josh Wallace

My goodness, I cant wait to replace Fountas. From the reckless passes to getting caught up and played around, he single-handedly gives away so many chances and goals.

kcrews123

How that not a yellow? No attempt to play the ball, away from goal, stopping a run

Also: get Fontas off the field.

Really lucky Dallas hasn’t scored. Rosero was 1 on 3 there. I don’t know if Fontas is running as fast as he can and just embarrassingly slow or he’s just jogging back while the guy is free on goal.

jdkus11

If Salloi was just a little faster, he would be a crazy good winger. Despite his pace, he’s still able to be very productive, but I’d love for him to gain an extra step.

blakeyoh

Backline subs are going to be a big question for the second half. Ndembe on a yellow and Fontas in poor form, plus you expect Zusi to make an appearance at some point.

kcrews123

I’d feel a lot more confident for the 2nd half if Fontas wasn’t as slow as a rock, and Rosero didn’t have to spend the first half busting his gut to cover anything he could since Fontas was such a burden. Knowing we have another half of Fontas “defending” doesn’t make me confident

When are we going to start getting the fair end of yellows? How do other teams chop of down on blatant fouls and get nothing, but Ndembe commits a foul (was thst his only one) that wasn’t even a definite foul, and he gets a yellow.

blakeyoh

Agreed. Feels like this one could go either way.

Josh Wallace

Halftime thoughts:

  • Daniel Salloi has Smith in hell right now. He’s playing one-twos around him, driving past him, and making runs into his space. Wouldn’t be surprised if Dallas replaced him at the half.
  • Fontas makes the backline look so much worse than it is. Rosero, and even Davis has covered for him throughout the half. Problem is, Voloder has been equally nightmareish, so who you gonna replace him with?
  • Tzionis just doesnt look comfortable on the right. He doesn’t really get to the end line, but doesn’t cut in either. Has been offsides on at least two runs so far.
  • Jake Davis, while not perfect, has shown to be very solid at right back. He got beat by Velasco a couple times early, and then didn’t give any space after that. Even added two really good diagonals to his game. His development is huge for us this year.
Tatito

Voloder doesn’t need to be on this team. Has no situational awareness. I hope fontas isn’t back next year. We need to target l at least 3 cbs next year minimum

KCSpurs1996

I like Zusi as a super sub. Keeps him fresh from game to game while allowing him to still make an impact.

kcrews123

Another body up foul with no play on the ball – not even a foul. Such a joke

kcrews123

Here comes Shelton…..

jdkus11

Man, that’s two horrible giveaways from Rosero. He’s got to be smarter with those passes.

kcrews123

Rosero is totally done, he can barely move his legs. He needs a sub, but man, Castellanos and Fontas sounds like a recipe for disaster

blakeyoh

I hope Rosero is not injured, that would be a very bad break 😫

jdkus11

Let’s go ahead and give Salloi a break now too. I don’t know the last time I’ve seen him get a break. Put on Shelton since we just need to close this one out and put Afrifa up top so we can rest Pulido too.

jdkus11

Also, this feels insane that PV will have used 4 of his 5 subs by the 65th minute. Who knew all it took was MLS screwing us over with the congested schedule?

kcrews123

Oh what’s that, another no card foul you say? Oh, and it led to an injury too you say?

This is ridiculous. That was a sloppy foul with no real intent, but hey, no card. Again.

KCSpurs1996

Just went to check the STL City score, only to find out they don’t play tonight. I don’t think they’ve had a Wednesday night MLS game yet….anyone know why? They’re 2-3 games behind everyone else in the MP column.

jdkus11

I wouldn’t be surprised if their end of season schedule is cluttered. Maybe they’ll run into the old Sporting problem of too many games and not enough rotation that leads to a backslide at the end.

KCSpurs1996

Just peeked at their schedule and looks like you’re right. Also I didn’t realize they had a game postponed, which they have to make up next Wednesday.

jdkus11

What formation are they playing with that Shelton sub? Is Shelton slotting in at RB?

KCSpurs1996

Shelton at RB, lol. Maybe he could move to defender, he’s got the size for it at least

kcrews123

You’re kidding me? How is that not called?

Last edited 2 years ago by kcrews123
Tatito

Man tzionis keeps killing every counter. Shitty passing and can’t go to attack without losing the ball

blakeyoh

Sucks for Zusi. You could tell on the replay that the shove caused him to take an awkward step that led to what I assume is a muscle injury. Hope he’s not out for too long.

kcrews123

What was Mcintosh doing there?!

Tatito

Had to cover for Shelton who got beat on the over pass

kcrews123

Shelton wasn’t the problem there. Mcintosh VERY much overcommited, but somehow without committing enough.

KCSpurs1996

GK should not be coming off his line to cover for a defender unless he’s sure he’ll get to the ball first. Bad on Shelton and McIntosh there. And it looked like Castellanos was arriving to cover and McIntosh got in his way.

Tatito

Shelton… Dude you had one job

blakeyoh

Time for some Dallas-style time wasting. Great job Alan

KCSpurs1996

Might be time to give Pulskamp another chance. McIntosh has made some great saves since filling in as starter but he makes too many goalkeeping errors. He spilled a save early on that would have been a goal for Dallas if not for offsides. And then I don’t know what he was thinking just now

Tatito

He got left out in no man’s land on that goal bc of khirby who shouldn’t even have let that ball go over someone his size. He’s not great, but when you have a duct tape defense like that….

KCSpurs1996

A GK should not be coming off his line to cover for a defender unless he’s sure he’ll get to the ball first. Shelton messed up but it looked like Castellanos was arriving to cover and McIntosh got in his way and left the goal undefended. Our defense was uninspiring tonight.

wet water

He wasn’t in no man’s land, he got to the ball first and instead of diving on it he decided to do some sort of crab walk thing.

SportsChum

Bit of a shaky ending, but 3 more beautiful points

kcrews123

I did not like those last 5 minutes, but they pulled it off.

Now for another 2 day rest game, traveling all the way to Vancouver. This schedule is some BS
