Juice Boxes and Post Game Stats: Back to Back Wins

Sporting KC picked up their third win of the season on Saturday at Q2 Stadium, taking down Austin FC 2-1. It was KC’s first win in Austin. Elsewhere in Texas on Saturday night, Sporting KC II took on North Texas SC. Unfortunately that result didn’t go KC’s way as they fell 5-1. Here are the stats and milestones from the 2 games.

Sporting KC

Sporting KC has their first back to back wins since beating FC Dallas on 7/7/24 and and the San Jose Earthquakes on 7/13/24.

Zorhan Bassong made his 50th league appearance for KC. He’s the 88th player to reach that mark.

It was his 50th appearance in MLS competitions. He’s the 94th player to reach that mark.

Stephen Afrifa made his 41st substitute appearance for KC in all competitions, tying him with Gerso Fernandes for 15th all time on that list.

Shane Donovan made his 50th appearance in all competitions for KC. He’s the 23rd player to reach that mark.

In the 34th minute, Donovan passed Sebastian Cruz and moved into 18th all time for league minutes played for KC. In the 80th minute, Donovan then passed Kharlton Belmar and moved into 17th place all time on that list. In the 85th minute, Donovan finally passed Chris Rindov and moved into 16th place all time on that list. He finished the game with 3,888 minutes played.

In the 35th minute, Donovan passed Cruz and moved into 20th place all time for minutes played in all competitions for KC. In the 64th minute, Donovan then passed Parker Maher and moved into 19th all time on that list. In the 73rd minute Donovan passed John Pulskamp and moved into 18th all time on that list. Finally in the 85th minute, Donovan passed Rindov and moved into 17th place all time on that list. He finished the game with 3,978 minutes played.

Donovan made his 49th league appearance for KC, tying him with Nansel Selbol for 17th all time on that list.

Donovan made his 43rd league start for KC, tying him with Tyler Pasher for 16th all time on that list.

It was Donovan’s 44th start in all competitions, tying him with Pulskamp for 17th all time on that list.

Johann Ortiz made his 48th league appearance for KC, tying him with Belmar and Pasher for 19th all time on that list.
