The Kansas City Current looked like the 2025 version of themselves on Mothers’ Day as they took down the Chicago Stars 3-0 thanks to a hattrick from Temwa Chawinga. The hattrick is KC’s first in league play, not just by the Current, but by their predecessor, FC Kansas City. Here are the stats and milestones from today.

Temwa Chawinga recorded the 1st hattrick in NWSL play for the Current. It’s the 2nd hattrick in all competitions for the Current after Kristen Hamilton’s hattrick in the NWSL Challenge Cup in 2023 against the Houston Dash.
