All of our teams are losing

It’s been back-to-back depressing weekends for the KC soccer fan. Whether it’s Sporting KC, the Current, the Comets, or the US Men’s National Team, everyone has been losing. But the Shades of Blue Soccer Show is here to help you laugh through the pain.

The show starts off by avoiding all those problems and talking about the recent announcement of the 2027 MLS Sprint Season. This is truly a massive shift as they align the MLS season with the international calendar. The league got this part right. But Thad tells us how even when they get things right, they still get it wrong.

The KC Current lost just three matches the entire 2025 season. But now? They just lost three matches in one week. The show is starting to wonder just how bad it could get for the Current. Temwa Chawinga will return from injury eventually, but will that be enough?

The Comets had two remaining matches and the chance to win the Shield, but gave up late goals in both games and saw it slip away. Thankfully, they are still in the playoffs.

And of course, the USMNT were dragged by Belgium in a 5-2 loss. Time is running out to right the ship before the World Cup is on our shores.

Sporting KC had the best result of the weekend out of all the teams, and that’s just because they didn’t play!
