Juice Boxes and Post Game Stats: Sporting KC II Open MLSNP Season
Back on March 17th, Sporting KC II opened the 2024 MLS Next Pro season in Houston. Against Houston Dynamo 2, Sporting fell behind 1-0 before storming back with two late goals to take the game 2-1 with Beto Avila and Pau Vidal finding the back of the net for KC. Last week in their home opener at Rock Chalk Park, Sporting took on the recently rebranded Ventura County FC, formerly LA Galaxy 2. Like in Houston the week before, Sporting fell behind, this time though the Galaxy added a second and a third before KC responded late with Vidal again finding the back of the net for KC in a 3-1 losing effort.
With the fact that I had forgotten to do last week’s stats for Sporting II, here is a two week set of stats from both games so far this season for the team formerly know as Swope Park Rangers.
