Sporting Kansas City’s run in the CONCACAF Champions Cup ended on Tuesday night in Fort Lauderdale, falling 3-1 to Inter Miami. The loss was KC’s ninth straight without a win in all competitions dating back to the 2023 season. Sporting got their first goal of the season from Memo Rodriguez. Meanwhile, Sporting’s youngest player on the roster, Ian James made his debut in the game. Here are the stats and milestones from Tuesday night.

With Andrew Brody and Ian James making their debuts last night, Sporting has had 6 players make their club debuts this year. In all of 2024 KC had just 4 players make their debut for the club.

At 16 years, 264 days, James became the second youngest player to appear in a game across all competitions for KC.

Salloi made his 7th substitute appearance in international competitions, tying him with Dom Dwyer for the most in club history.

Salloi made his 13th appearance in international competitions for KC, tying him with Graham Zusi for 4th all time on that list.

William Agada made his 4th substitute appearance in international competitions, tying him with Gray Glasgow, Roy Lassiter, Roger Espinoza, and Logan Ndenbe for 5th all time on that list.

Tim Leibold and Erik Thommy each made their 8th appearance in international competitions for KC, tying them with Lassiter, Felipe Gutierrez, Paulo Nagamura, Eric Kronberg, Andreu Fontas, and Tim Melia for 20th all time on that list.

Leibold made his 8th international start for KC, tying him with Gutierrez, Nagamura, Kronberg, Fontas, Melia, Espinoza, Benny Feilhaber, and Peter Vermes for 12th all time on that list.
