Across State Lines: Cam Duke Signs with Louisville

Former Sporting KC Homegrown Player, Cam Duke has a new team for 2026. The midfielder signed a contract with Louisville City of the 2026 USL Championship season. It is a return for Duke as he spent some time with Louisville in the 2025 season, signing a twenty-five day contract with the club in April but didn’t continue with the club after that contract expired. It was the first of two twenty-five day contracts Duke signed in 2025 as he also signed one with Hartford Athletic in September. In the two contracts though Duke made just one appearance for the two teams. In 2026 though he’ll be on a full contract with Louisville.

In other news, former Sporting KC player, Shavar Thomas has a new head coaching gig. The former center back and Jamaican international has been named the first coach for MLS Next Pro side, CT United ahead of their first season in 2026. Thomas had been an assistant with FC Cincinnati 2 before leaving to take the job with CT United. It’s Thomas’s third head coaching job after previously coaching Portmore United in his native Jamaica and the Turks and Caicos national team.
