Across State Lines: Sauerbrunn Retires From Professional Soccer

Another US Soccer legend is calling time on their career as Becky Sauerbrunn announced yesterday that she was retiring from professional soccer after a sixteen year international career. Sauerbrunn earned 219 caps for the US Women’s National Team in her career and spent five seasons in Kansas City with NWSL’s first team in town, FC Kansas City. She helped lead the team to two NWSL titles in 2014 and 2015. She was captain or co-captain of the team in their five year run in Kansas City. She made 88 league appearances, and 93 across all competitions in those five seasons.
