Across State Lines: Jerome Injured in Home Explosion

Published

on

Former Sporting Kansas City defender, Mechack Jerome was injured last Thursday the 31st in an explosion at his home in Omaha. Investigators believe that the explosion was caused by propane gas being used to cook in the garage of the duplex Jerome lived in. Jerome is currently a defender for USL1 side, Union Omaha who Sporting KC played in this year’s US Open Cup. Jerome and two others ended up in the hospital after the explosion that has displaced his family as well as the family that lives on the other side of the duplex. Go Fund Me’s have been set up for both Jerome and the other family that was displaced in the explosion.

Jerome’s Union Omaha side and the rest of the USL1 and USL Championship teams all kicked off their playoff this past week as well, check out the full update below.
