Across State Lines: Auvray Named Fiji National Team Coach

Former Sporting Kansas City midfielder, Stephane Auvray is the new national team coach for Fiji, having been named to that position this past week. Auvray spent parts of two seasons with Kansas City in 2010 and 2011 after a long career in France. He also represented Guadeloupe in international competition, including playing in Children’s Mercy Park with the team in the 2011 Gold Cup. He closed out his playing career with the New York Red Bulls and DPMM in Malaysia after leaving KC. Since retiring, Auvray has spent time coaching, some in Kansas City, but also as the coach of the Saint Martin national team. Auvray will now take over his second national team job with Fiji. The Bula Boys are eliminated from qualifying for the 2026 World Cup, falling to New Zealand in the OFC semifinals back in March.
