Former Players
Across State Lines: Kamara and Ilie Lift US Open Cup
Yes, the big news this week for former Kansas City players was the fact that two former Sporting KC players lifted the US Open Cup on Wednesday as Los Angeles FC defeated Sporting KC 3-1 in extra time. Both Kei Kamara and Ilie Sanchez were substitutes for LAFC in the final, Ilie coming off the bench late in the second half for Aaron Long while Kamara came off the bench to start extra time. Kamara ended up scoring the dagger late in extra time to give LAFC a 3-1 lead.

Man, it really hurts to see Ilie still contributing strongly to one of the league’s best teams while SKC continues to nosedive. Kamara’s just icing on the bitter cake.
Kamara left and was never replaced. It’s ironic we let Sanchez go. He’s still a better 6 than anyone on our roster and he makes pens. Which year did Kamara leave? Winter of 2013. When did we last win MLS cup? Oh yeah, 2013. Nothing to see here.
Who made these decisions? Same guy who can’t coach a win past them in the twilight of their careers.
