Juice Boxes and Post Game Stats: A Winning Weekend in KC
It was a winning weekend all the way around for Kansas City’s professional soccer teams this past weekend. All three teams picked up wins ahead of the holiday weekend. Sporting KC got things started on Saturday night with a 3-0 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps. That same night on the West Coast, the KC Current picked up their first win ever over the Portland Thorns 1-0. On Sunday, Sporting KC II continued the good results, defeating Whitecaps 2 7-1 at Rock Chalk Park in Lawrence to pick up a 3-0 record this weekend for KC teams. Here are the stats and milestones from this weekend.
Sporting KC and the KC Current won on the same weekend for the first time since August 27th and August 28th of last year.
It’s only the second time that Sporting and the Current have won on the same day. The last time that happened was August 14th of 2021.
