Across State Lines: Kamara Passes Donovan on MLS Scoring Chart
Former Sporting Kansas City forward, Kei Kamara moved into second place all time on MLS’s scoring charts this past week. Playing on his eleventh MLS team (twelfth if you count is short stop in Cincinnati during the expansion draft), this past week Kamara scored two goals for Los Angeles FC in their games against Austin FC and the San Jose Earthquakes. His 145th MLS goal, that tied him with Landon Donovan for second all time was a 90th minute equalizer against Austin on Wednesday last week to give LAFC a 1-1 draw. Kamara’s 146th goal that moved him into second on his own, behind only Chris Wondolowski, came in LAFC’s 6-2 win over San Jose. Thirty-eight of Kamara’s now 146 goals came during his time in Kansas City with Sporting from 2009 until 2013.
Here is the rest of this week’s update.
