This has been one of the most bland halves of soccer I’ve ever watched.
Wish Sporting showed as much urgency in the half as they showed after the whistle.
Lazy play. Lucky not to be behind.
With how the night seems to be going, I was waiting to see Salloi get a red as that kept on going
It is almost like only using 2 subs on Wed and playing the exact same folks on a 93 deg day creates tired legs and lazy soccer. Huh…who’d a thunk it?
Well. Sporting comes out lethargic after the break. Fontas makes a bad clearance. And Chicago gets a well-deserved goal.
If Sporting can’t beat the 11th placed team in the east at home, we can stop pretending this is a playoff team that just needed to get healthy.
Why did Fontas just stand there as the ball went by him? A stuck out leg could have easily gotten a touch.
We look bad. We need Kinda to come on WITH Thommy
Gotta say, Vermes can talk up how Russell always comes back early. But he looked like player who was still hurt. No creativity,
And now Chicago brings on more pace, and Shaqiri. That’s scary.
Salloi….
Speaking of players who look like they’re out of gas.
Overpaid per production
Well, that’s the 2nd scoring chance this half Salloi has bungled without a shot.
Another Vermes CMP special. Go down 1 goal and have 45 straight minutes of possession to try tying without creating a single real scoring chance.
And here comes the savior! Khiry Shelton.
And the fans boo.
Look out, here comes the aerial threat Shelton. Oops, he ducked away from a corner he could have headed in.
He didn’t even look like he thought about trying to go for it, much less actually going for it.
“And it fell to Shelton there. Shelton didn’t run?” Even the announcers are confused.
I thought we said the Khiry RB experiment should be over? I thought we agreed the Khiry experiment should be over? But no, we’ll put him in instead of Roger, who actually has experience playing outside back, and now we’re dropping points at home (not a direct effect of Khiry being subbed in, just to be clear). This definitely keeps me firmly in the Vermes Out camp.
Got on just in time to see Peter give his best addict impersonation by forcing Khiry out there again at rb for whatever reason chasing a goal.
Peter thinks it hurts so good
That was stupid of Salloi. We had the ball, don’t be an idiot and give them the ball and the chance to wase a minute or two
1 point in 3 games. 2 against teams below the playoff line. The other against a team missing 6 starters.

May is starting to look like a mirage. Dropping 4 points to LA and Chicago is inexcusable
This. May was not a representative sample of our team. And goddamn it angers me to no end about match management
Yay.. fontas and Shelton, the ultimate difference makers. Great job vermes
Even though May was awesome for us, I think the team has still been on thin ice with the fan base. If we had kept that run of form going and pulled out 4 or 5 points from these last 3 (very realistic considering 2 games were against other bad teams) we could have been in a solid mid-playoff spot. Instead, we’ve played the most games in the league and are dropping points that shouldn’t be.
I’m thinking the first 10 games of the year and these last 3 are closer to the norm, and the May run was more of an exception to the norm. Without Pulido, we don’t even get a point out of these last 9. We’re back to looking flat, uninspired, and out of ideas.
Hello darkness my old friend, time to trade in our tickets and pray we look better in August
Need Thommy and Kinda on at the same time. Rosero, I didn’t see why he was out.
That’s what I was saying. We need the creativity of them together with Pulido in front
Rosero was yellow card accumulation.

This game was so dull and deflating that it has derailed what excitement I had left for watching SKC more this year.
Mid to late season SKC looks like early season SKC.
It feels like — I’m no expert — SKC starts doing things well and Vermes starts doing things a little different (maybe I’m manifesting all that), but suddenly the team defaults to the shit that never worked.
Russell went down and things got worse.
Vermes fucking out. Shit mid week match management followed up by this shit performance.
