Shades of Blue on the first win and new signing

This week on the Shades of Blue Soccer Show we are talking about Sporting KC’s first win of 2026, a new signing, and hopeful scenarios for this season.

Lasse Berg Johnson scored in his debut and was the FotMob Man of the Match. (Are we calling him LBJ or Lasse Berg?) His impact was immediate and his presence opens up other key playmakers. Dejan Joveljic and Manu Garcia are now able to stay up the field and combine in the danger areas.

Hopefully, we can use Lasse Berg as a positive sign for the other new additions.

Sporting KC have also signed 24-year-old Capita Capemba and his speed is the highlight. Pace has been a focus of David Lee, as Thad told us. Thad also tells us to not give up on this season entirely. With the reinforcements of Lasse Berg, Diego Borges, and Capita Capemba, Sporting KC look quite different from the first couple matches.

Naturally, we can start to convince ourselves the 2026 season isn’t entirely lost. Yet.
